Mr. Jacoby has over 25 years of experience in the financing, development and asset management of independent power generation facilities, and is a co-founder of Paragon.
At Paragon, Mr. Jacoby principally advises project sponsors and investors on solar and wind tax equity and M&A transactions, and he previously served in this same capacity as co-founder of CCA Group’s renewable energy advisory practice.
Prior to Paragon and CCA, he held various positions with Enron Corp. from May 1998 to February 2003. As a Vice President of Enron North America, Mr. Jacoby was responsible for certain gas-fired power project development and wholesale origination activities, including development activities related to over 2,000 MWs of gas-fired peaker projects constructed in the Southeast and Midwest.
From 1990 through 1998, he held various positions with KENETECH Corporation, an independent power producer with a significant presence in the wind power sector. As Vice President of KENETECH Corporation, Mr. Jacoby was responsible for wind project finance activities including project debt and equity syndications. During his career in the energy industry, Mr. Jacoby has originated, negotiated and closed a wide variety of transactions having an electric generation capacity in excess of 8,000 MW and a value in excess of $8 billion in the aggregate, including wind power, solar, geothermal, biomass, gas-fired and other electric generation technologies.
Mr. Jacoby earned his Master of Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1990, and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1987.
Mr. Jacoby holds Series 7, 24, 63 and 79 securities licenses, and previously served on the boards of Noble Environmental Power and Saguaro Power Company.
